Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees
There are three types of Delta Dental plans:
- Delta Dental PPOSM
- Delta Dental Premier®
- DeltaCare®USA (Delta’s DHMO-type closed network plan)
Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier allow you to see any licensed provider you choose, but you’ll likely save more money by visiting one who is in-network. With DeltaCareUSA, you must select from within the network.
The coverage you receive depends on your plan, who you select, and which treatment(s) you need. However, under most Delta Dental PPO and Premier plans, a specified percentage of the cost is paid by your insurance, and the amount you owe depends on the office’s fees. This means that since we’re in-network with Delta Dental, your insurance will end up covering much of your cost of care!
Some plans use a table of allowances that shows the specific amount paid per procedure, which helps you keep track of your financials and lets you calculate in advance how much you’ll end up owing. Also note that most Delta Dental insurance plans work within a benefit period, which is usually a calendar year. Some yearly maximums and limits are usually applied to each of your family members.
